Nathan Brown is Assistant Professor of English at UC Davis, where he also teaches in Science & Technology Studies and the Program in Critical Theory. He has published on continental philosophy, nanotechnology, and experimental poetry in Qui Parle, Radical Philosophy, Parallax, How2, and The Speculative Turn. He is currently working on two book projects: The Limits of Fabrication: Materials Science and Materialist Poetics examines concepts of form and practices of fabrication in nanoscale materials science and contemporary materialist poetics. Absent Blue Wax (Rationalist Empiricism) reconsiders the relation of rationalism and empiricism in light of recent challenges to Kant’s critical resolution of this problem, with particular attention to contemporary French rationalism (Althusser, Badiou, Meillassoux) and various radical empiricisms (Peirce, Whitehead, Deleuze).
