Alexi Kukuljevic received his PhD in Philosophy from Villanova University and is currently a researcher at the Jan van Eyck Academie.  His publications address the work of such figures as Louis Althusser, Gilles Deleuze, Alain Badiou and Jacques Rancière. He is the co-founder of Machete, a collective experiment attempting engender critical points of antagonism within the contemporary artistic conjuncture.  He is currently working on a book on the subject of critique that focuses on a form of subjectivity produced through the immanent activity of critical thought that is strictly speaking unlivable.  Other current research interests concern the theoretical import of suicide, pessimism and dandyism. In addition to his philosophical practice, he is also the artist Ludwig Fischer.
